A Few of Our Favorite Holiday Happenings
Caroling in Jackson Square
This decades-old New Orleans tradition is a must-see event. Watch as locals and visitors fill Jackson Square with candle-lit faces and the sweet sounds of the season. With the St. Louis Cathedral as your backdrop, this is a holiday moment you won’t ever forget. Celebrate this New Orleans holiday tradition on Sunday, December 16.
St. Louis Cathedral Holiday Concerts
Catch some of Louisiana’s most celebrated performers at this free concert series put on by French Quarter Festivals. This year’s line-up features music from across genres, including jazz, classical, Cajun, and gospel. Dates are still TBD, so stay tuned for more details!

From our hotel, you can take the Canal Streetcar or a cab to get to City Park. As always, our concierge is happy to provide detailed directions. Reveillon Dinners in New Orleans
You’re not truly celebrating the holidays in New Orleans if you don’t attend at least one Reveillon Dinner during the month of December. A Creole tradition born in the 1800s, Reveillon Dinners today include lavish five-course meals from some of your favorite New Orleans restaurants. Our very own Criollo Restaurant is participating in the tradition.
Holiday Decorations & Hotel Monteleone School Choir Series
One of our all-time favorite parts about the holidays in New Orleans can be found all throughout the city – holiday decorations! Many famous New Orleans establishments and homes celebrate a tradition of decorating their interiors and exteriors.
Hotel Monteleone is no exception to this tradition. We fill our lobby with grand sparkling trees, lighting up the 200 block of Royal Street. In 2016, GoNOLA.com named us as their top destination for holiday decorations in New Orleans. We also decorate the exterior of the Grand Dame to give Royal Street that extra holiday sparkle.
In addition to our beautiful holiday decor, we will be presenting our School Choir Series. During the week of December 3rd and the week of December 10th, local school choirs will be filling our lobby with beautiful holiday songs!
