Hotel Monteleone and Tales of the Cocktail: A Spirited Duo

Cocktails are the reward at the end of a long day, the delicious icebreaker for a memorable date night, or the cherry on top of a well-deserved vacation. Cocktails, we think, tell a story. Which is why Tales of the Cocktail, a festival-meets-convention, is the perfect way to celebrate our favorite kind of drink. Tales runs from July 15-19… check out what’s happening! You can also stay at Hotel Monteleone for up-close access to this delicious event.

Tales Restaurant Week

Leading up to and during the event, Tales of the Cocktail hosts its own, spirited version of a restaurant week. This means you can check out a host of restaurants around town for specific types of liquors and liqueurs: try El Dorado Rum at Cane and Table, Cruz Tequila at Johnny Sanchez, or many other kinds. Our own Carousel Bar & Lounge is somewhat of the de facto home base for Tales, so be sure to stop in and pay homage to the cocktail with appropriate savoir-faire.

Spirited Seminars

Educating people about the cocktail is the first and foremost goal of Tales. How? Through tons fo speakers, panels, seminars, and tasting events, of course. The “Meet the Maker” series, for example, gives people a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what it takes to make a specific spirit. There are also specific panels on sustainable agave practices, how to provide stylish and memorable service, and taking a closer look at a new crop of indie spirits.  Intriguing, educational, and delicious panels are at the core of Tales o the Cocktail.

The Best Part? Taste of the Cocktail

Considering Hotel Monteleone and the Carousel Bar’s close connection to Tales of the Cocktail, it’s no wonder we think it’s an apt place to soak in the Tales environment. In addition to our own craft cocktails, Carousel also features a full bar that is sure to inspire. Live jazz music sets the scene, and if you want wine? We have a solid wine list (and your secret is safe with us).
