Bocage Plantation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has also been used as a Hollywood film set. Dr. Marion Rundell, a native of Louisiana, is credited for restoring the Plantation to its original design. He is also credited for opening the landmark to the public. The plantation offers tours by appointment only along with group functions and it can also be enjoyed as a bed and breakfast.

The history of Bocage Plantation is link to the likes of Christopher Colombus and the colonization of America. It was built on 1801 by Marius Pons Bringier as a wedding gift to his daughter. It was used as the main stage to entertain many guests as it continues today hosting events like Weddings, Fundraisers, Bridal Showers, Holiday Parties, Cajun Parties, Christmas Parties, Birthday Parties, Receptions and more.

No expense has been spared to furnish the mansion in fine antiques and accessories, from the great furniture makers such as Mallard, Belter, Roux, Lee, Meeks and others, to grand Baccarat and Waterford chandeliers. “We have paintings by famous artists such as Rembrandt Peale and Thomas Sully, and even a fine clock signed by Tiffany. We are also proud of our fine collection of Old Paris porcelain vases,” Dr. Rundell explained.

The second-level grand rooms overlook the levee that fronts the Mississippi River. Handsome double parlors open onto the front gallery that provides a panoramic view of the 100-acre plantation.

The design is simple and shows good taste, making you feel welcome and happy, as the atmosphere is really cosy and pleasant. This hotel is the perfect accommodation for those who visit Santa ‘ s village and want to feel the famous polar night themselves.
