Royal Street Dirty Linen Night 2013
Saturday, August 10, 2013 6:00 PM
Save the date for the 12th annual Dirty Linen Night, August 10, 2013, on Royal Street in the French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana.
The celebration features the unique artist-run Galleries, shops and other businesses of the Royal Street Artist’s District.
The first ‘Dirty Linen Night’ was held by the members at an artist-owned collective on Royal Street in 2001, as a tongue-in-cheek way to draw art lovers to the gallery during the slowest month of the year. The following year, artist-member Tracy Thomson invited every gallery along Royal Street to join in. The annual event, now produced by the Arts Council of New Orleans, showcases the unique stretch of Royal Street and all of its artist-owned galleries.
Galleries and shops in the Artist’s District showcase their art, from original oils, watercolors, sculpture, prints, glass, and mixed media. These unique shops also carry jewelry, clothing, home accessories, decorative arts, antiques, hats, wigs and much more.
Dirty Linen Night is a volunteer-run entity, and all monies raised go directly to producing the event.
