Tales of the Cocktail
The past week has been a wonderful whirlwind of cocktails, dinners, tastings and mixology competitions as we’ve been the headquarters to the international cocktail festival Tales of the Cocktail.The festival, which celebrated its 10th Anniversary this year, brings together the most respected names in the cocktail industry for a festival to showcase the latest and greatest in the world of mixology. Needless to say, our beloved Carousel Bar bartender Marvin was in heaven! White Linen Night
Wearing linen in the New Orleans summer is a long-standing tradition, and leave it to NOLA to create a block party to celebrate it! Don your best white linen and head to White Linen Night this Saturday from 6-9PM. Enjoy free entry into 21 museums and galleries along Julia St., live music, cocktails and food! Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Monteleone!
Dirty Linen Night
One week later, you can get back in the spirit of New Orleans summer fun at Dirty Linen Night along Royal Street in the French Quarter! Whimsically named for attendees wearing the very same linen outfits they wore the week before, this block party celebrates the art galleries and shops along Royal Street from 6-10PM on August 11th. Stop in the Criollo Lounge during the celebrations to enter to win a stay at the Monteleone for next year’s event!

Hotel Monteleone Spotlight: Kent Wasmuth
Wishing a warm Monteleone welcome to Kent Wasmuth who has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for Hotel Monteleone by Ron Pincus, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. His duties include promoting the Hotel through advertising, public relations and group/leisure sales efforts. He will oversee the Sales Department, Reservation Center, Catering and Conference Service Departments for the Hotel as well as the Bienville House.
Most recently, Mr. Wasmuth served as director of sales and marketing for the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel in New Orleans. Mr. Wasmuth previously worked in sales and marketing for the Royal Sonesta Hotel, the New Orleans CVB and the Wyndham Canal Place. He also served as vice president of sales for Gaylord Hotels in Nashville, helping to launch two major expansions to Opryland Hotel which now has 2,817 rooms. He served on the pre-opening sales teams for both the Gaylord Palm Hotel in Kissimmee, Florida, and the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas.Kent is an avid fisherman who enjoys being outdoors in Louisiana. After spending a few years away from New Orleans, he and his wife are enjoying being home!
