Marvin Allen our head bartender on the Early Show
Marvin Allen the Hotel Monteleone’s head bartender was on the Early Show on Channel 26. He mixed up some famous Hotel Monteleone drinks called, The Bulliet Brees, and The Oronoco Blitz. These soon to be legendary mixed drinks are indigenous of the Hotel Monteleone in the city which created the first mixed drink. You can taste them for yourself at the carousel bar here in the Hotel. If you are interested in the recipe they are listed below but remember the special ingredient is drinking them at the Hotel Monteleone. Anywhere else, it will not taste the same!
Bulliet Brees
11/4 oz of Bulliet Bourbon
¼ oz of simple syrup
1 Maraschino Cherry
1 Orange Slice
4-5 drops of Angastora Bitters
Place all ingredients except Bulliet Bourbon in and Old Fashioned glass and muddle to release juices and mix.
Add ice and top with Bulliet Bourbon, stir and sit back and enjoy.
Oronoco Blitz
1 ¼ oz of Oronoco Rum
2-3 Blackberries
1 small lemon wedge
¼ oz of simple syrup
3-4 oz of Club Soda
Place all ingredients except Oronoco Rum and club soda in an Old Fashioned glass and muddle to release juices and mix.
Add ice and top with Oronoco Rum add Club Soda, sit back sip and enjoy.
