Bite into mouth-watering local Creole tomatoes at the 37th annual French Market Creole Tomato Festival, just blocks away from Hotel Monteleone. There will be a variety of food vendors offering their tasty tomato treats, free live music including the Lost Bayou Ramblers and Delfeo Marsalis, cooking demonstrations, and engaging activities to keep children entertained too. Not sure what makes a tomato Creole? These bright red beauties are local Louisiana varieties known for their full flavor. The heat, humidity, and alluvial soil create a vine-ripe flavor that folks around here can’t wait to get their hands on.

In a city with one of the most revered restaurant cultures around, it comes as no surprise New Orleans dedicates an entire week to celebrate this culinary heritage. During Restaurant Week, up to 80 restaurants across the city offer exclusive prix fixe lunches, brunches, and dinners at special prices. Prices vary by restaurant, but you can expect lunch at around $20 and brunch and dinner for about $40, with drink specials available as well. This is your opportunity to try one of the esteemed eateries on your list or consider a brand-new menu from a family favorite. Might we recommend Criollo Restaurant? Their $35 prix fixe lunch takes you on a journey of mouthwatering flavors, with options including Artichoke & Shrimp Ceviche, Sautéed Black Drum, and Butterscotch Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. Bon Appétit!
