The Third Annual National Fried Chicken Festival

New Orleans is one of the best cities in the world to attend a festival. All year long, we celebrate music, food, and culture. There are plenty of historic festivals in the Crescent City, but a new one has recently become quite popular.

On September 22-23, the third annual National Fried Chicken Festival will once again happen in Woldenberg Park. 35 restaurants will showcase one of the South’s most popular dishes in a variety of forms. Plus, it’s free!

Food

Over 30 restaurants from Louisana and across the country will be serving chicken dishes from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on September 22, and 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on September 23.

Fiorella’s Cafe, Sucre, Willie’s Chicken Shack, and Blue Oak BBQ are among the local restaurants that will be showcasing.

There will also be a large array of national restaurants to choose from. Eugene’s Hot Chicken (Birmingham, AL), Gus’s Fried Chicken (Memphis, TN), Pollo (Louisville, KY), and Max’s Wine Dive (Austin, TX) are included in a list of fantastic restaurants from outside Louisiana.

Music

In addition to all the great food available to you, the festival will also include two stages featuring great local and national acts, including Mannie Fresh, Flow Tribe, and Golden Sioux Mardi Gras Indians, among many others. There is also a DJ Stage where you can get your groove on with the DJs.

The festival will also feature DJ Prizm, Tetrad, and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra in a smaller performance space named the Sizzle Shack.
