Louisiana has 397 miles of coastline, making it the fifth-most coastal state in the U.S. according to congressional research, and the third-most according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). All that data translates into a pretty obvious, delicious fact: Louisiana has a lot of awesome seafood.
New Orleans celebrates our state’s bountiful seafood at Louisiana Seafood Festival, happening October 27-29 at Woldenberg Park, a short walk from Hotel Monteleone. General admission tickets are just $10 and give you access to a fun weekend full of fresh seafood, live music, cooking demos, and more. Get a glimpse of the fest below!
Louisiana Seafood Festival in New Orleans
Food Vendors
Going to Louisiana Seafood Festival is a great way to pack in a lot of famous New Orleans restaurants in a single day. This year’s food vendors include Galatoire’s Restaurant, Luke, Jacques-Imo’s, Tujague’s, Superior Seafood, Andrea’s, The Blue Crab, and many others. Not sure what to order? Browse the food menu in advance here. We’ll be in line for the crawfish pasta from the Blue Crab, Drago’s original charbroiled oysters, and crab and artichoke citrus salad from Jacques-Imo’s. Got a sweet tooth? You’ll definitely want to save room for Galatoire’s sweet potato hand pie with praline glaze and pecans.
Live Music
No New Orleans festival is complete without the sounds of live entertainment. At Louisiana Seafood Festival, you’ll experience talented acts like brass band The Soul Rebels, jam band Dumpstaphunk, and Zydeco act Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters. Check out the full lineup by day here.
Cooking Demonstrations
You can’t take the seafood home with you, but you can take home the next best thing—a recipe! Several cooking demonstrations throughout the fest will show you how to recreate tempting dishes at home. The schedule is TBD, but you can head to the Cooking Demonstration Tent at any time to see how chefs put fresh seafood to good use.
