Cats first opened its doors in December of 1989 as one of the first bars to provide karaoke as night time entertainment. Instantly, Cats created a phenomenon. Pioneer, the audio company responsible for bringing Karaoke to the United States, gave Cats the title of “the best karaoke bar in the world!” only two years after its opening.
Cats remains so successful because of its exceptional concept: live DJs and emcees, a variety of fun and memorable music, and the surprise as to who the next performer will be! When it’s your turn to perform, which inevitably it will be, choose from hundreds of different songs ranging from 50s to present day hits including hip hop, pop, classic rock, disco, swing and anything else you could possibly think of. It’s free to sing so get on up there and don’t afraid to sing your heart out!
Past visitors of Cats Meow who have also sung their hearts out include artists ranging from soul singer Seal to country musicians Brooks and Dunn, comedian/songwriter “Weird Al” Yankovic, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, and N’Sync have all visited the Cats Meow, as well as software mogul Bill Gates of Microsoft, actors Tori Spelling, Mario Lopez, Julie and Doria of Playboy’s Night Calls, and adult film star Stormy Daniels have stopped in to sing. In addition to famous visitors, several television shows have filmed on site including “The Regis and Kelly Show”, MTV’s “Road Rules” and “The Grind”. Cats proves a fun time for one and all!
